    Health Insurance

    By Flute Academy | July 9, 2008

Americans fret more about their health care costs than they do about losing a job, paying the mortgage, or becoming a victim of terrorism, according to a recent survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation. This is why it is more important than ever to purchase a quality health insurance plan for you and your family. The statistics are staggering. Currently there are 45 million Americans, or almost one sixth of the U.S. population, who live without health insurance. And unfortunately the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Since 2000 the number of uninsured Americans has grown by 5 million.

Most people can save the most money by enrolling in a group AARP health insurance plan. However many people can’t get group health insurance because they are either self-employed or work for a small company. They must turn to individual health insurance plans that they buy themselves. One of their options is called indemnity coverage. This fee-for-service policy is the traditional type of health insurance. It pays a part of each medical service you get, such as doctor visits or hospital stays and you pay the rest of the cost. You also have the freedom to go to any doctor or hospital that you choose.
